It is time to work on the 2009 -2010 St Pete Beach City Budget.
Revenues are down.
Why?
A large part of it is that appraised property values are down so government entities receive fewer dollars for each mil of tax. That applies to Cities, Counties, School Districts, etc.
So, our city tax revenues are down. On top of that the County revenues are down so they are dolling out less of the county tax revenues to the cities.
Less revenue means less city buying capability.
Do you want us to reduce the things the city pays for? INFRASTRUCTURE
What?
Police? Fire? Library hours? Rec Center Hours? Road repair? Donations? City Maintenance?
